For people who are in dire need of a cheap and good quality laser printer the Brother 2070N printer is an excellent choice. This printer has the ability to either be directly attached to your existing network or to your computer. The printer is great at printing crisp and sharp text which is well defined and shaped.

You don't have to worry about setting up this laser printer because its very simple. Weighing in at 14.3 it is easy to carry around. It has a built in network configuration system at can get you up and printing in minutes. However in our experience we found that this printer is really a variation of the previous HL 2040. It has an identical print engine and small sheet capacity. Like the HL 2040 you can choose to feed your printer manually.

This printer is however not in anyway the HL 2040 with added network function that most people would think. This printer has network functions as well as more memory. The printer processes your printing job rather than stress your computer which speeds things up.

The HL 2070 is blazing fast and turns out a decent number of pages in 60 seconds. People purchase laser printers because of their speed and text quality and this one fills the bill perfectly. However printing photos is slow and the result is not very good as some might imagine. This isn't a graphics printing master and shouldn't be used as one. Its strength is monochrome text. There is no point experimenting with the printer's dithering and posterization.

I found that this printer tended to curl the pages a bit which in my opinion is bad paper handling. According to Brother this is going to be fixed in up coming models. This printer is for those people who require a good high quality text printer. However I would recommend that you don't buy this printer if you want to print graphics at a high resolution.

At the prince this printer is at I would say that is does an excellent job of printing good quality text at a decent speed. I would say go ahead and use it for graphics but don't hope a good result. You will however find that monochrome graphics look fine and mixed with text it can give you a good result.

I loved the capacity of the Brother HL 2070N Toner that came with the printer. It is large enough to give you a decent running time. You won't need to run around looking for a replacement in a few days. In most small offices the toner should last a little over a few months.

If you use the Brother HL 2070N Toner to print graphics it's going to exhaust the Brother HL Compatible Toner sooner than you expect. This is another reason why you shouldn't use this printer to output high resolution graphics and just stick to text. Your text will look crisp and sharp as compared to your graphics so just keep this printer to text. Leave out all the other stuff from your documents.
